First Day of School:

The first day of classes for all Orangefield ISD students is Monday, August 23, 2010.

School begins at: 

            Elementary – 7:40 a.m.

            Junior High  - 7:45 a.m.

            High School – Tutorials/Breakfast: 7:30 – 7:50 a.m., Classes begin: 7:50 a.m.

Enrollment:

High School students new to the district may register daily beginning Wednesday, July 29.

Elementary and Junior High students new to the district may register Monday, August 9.

In order to enroll your child, you will be requested to provide the following items:

1.      Proof of residency

2.      Birth certificate

3.      Social Security card

4.      Previous school records or report card

5.      Current immunization/health record

 

Schedules:

Before schedules are picked up all residence papers must be taken care of at the superintendent’s office.

All fees or fines must be paid and your immunization record must be up to date before you pick up your schedule. 

 “Meet Your Teacher Day” for elementary school will be August 19, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

 Elementary student supply lists are available at the school office and on the district website. 

 

All junior high students may pick up their schedules on August 19, 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. at “Meet your

Teacher Day”.

 

All ninth grade students are encouraged to attend the Fish Camp on Wednesday, August 11 from 10:00 – 2:00 p.m.

 

August 3 - High school schedules must be picked up during the times listed below:

12th Grade -     2:00 -3:00 p.m.            10th Grade -     4:00 – 5:00 p.m.         

11th Grade -     3:00 – 4:00 p.m.          9th Grade -      5:00 – Followed by a brief meeting

Schedule change requests must be submitted to the office before the first day of instruction.

 

Before Reserving a Parking Space:

You must pick up your schedule card.

You must have a signed Drug Testing Form on file.

Requirements to reserve a parking space are:

            Signed Drug Testing Form on File                              Proof of Insurance

            $10 fee in numbered parking area                            Valid Texas Driver License

            $5 fee behind field house and at the new gym          Car license plate number

All students who park vehicles on campus must have a parking permit and park in their designated spaces.

All campus breakfasts are $1.00.  Elementary lunches are $1.50. Junior high and high school lunches are $2.00

Cormier Museum

The Orangefield ISD Cormier Museum will be open from 10-2 on the following Saturdays:

 

         August 21

            September 18

            October 16

            November 20

            December 18

 

The museum is located on Highway 105 next to Orangefield High School.  Special arrangements can be made to tour the facilities by contacting Brian Ousley at
