Those graduating students that completed a State Approved Program of Study with their Industrial Based Certification received their “Career Ready Honor Cord.”

Students from the HOSA-Future Health Professionals organization at OHS put on the first annual OES Teddy Bear Clinic. First graders were excited to bring stuffies from home for a well-check, complete with an ambulance visit. We would like to thank Acadian Ambulance Service for being a part of this event and providing exceptional first-aid care to these special patients. HOSA students ended the day with a tour of the new Christus Hospital-Orange facility for a glimpse into where their future healthcare career can take them!

Congratulations to Mr. Jake Nash for being named this year's recipient of the OHS Golden Apple Award! This award is voted on by the student body and presented by OHS Student Council.

Students in Mrs. Kimberly Spears' Child Development classes would like to thank Mr. Ricky Land, EMS Program Director at LSC-O, for coming to speak to us about First Aid Basics, Infant/Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation skills, and the Heimlich Maneuver. We hope we never have to use these trainings, but appreciate the preparation. These life saving skills are great for those that are around small children and specifically those that plan to babysit this summer.
