Ashlee Saucedo-Mendoza and Brylie Johnson were chosen to represent the OHS Health Science Program at the annual Nightingale Experience hosted by Lamar University Dishman School of Nursing and Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. They joined other standout sophomores from local schools that wish to pursue a future healthcare career. Along with touring the LU nursing department and Christus St. Elizabeth hospital, they were also able to perform hands-on skills in the simulation lab, collaborate with current nursing instructors and students and hear from professionals in the field. The future of healthcare is bright at OHS!

On Thursday night, the OHS Choir held its final concert of the season, featuring 4 fun group performances, 4 incredible state soloists, and a fun pop trio performance! We also recognized all UIL participants, including our 8 State qualifiers, and celebrated 4 seniors as they took the stage for their final concert with OHS Choir. ❤️🎓 Thank you to everyone who supported our choir program throughout this very successful year. We are so proud of all our students and everything they accomplished!

Last night, the Babe Zaharias Foundation held their 16th Annual awards dinner, honoring this year's Southeast Texas Junior Golfers and Coaches. Congratulations to Orangefield's, Davey Hogg on winning the Underclassman Character and Leadership Award.

Two seniors from Orangefield High School have accepted apprenticeships with DOW — Jaden and Diana were selected from hundreds of applicants, 32 candidates were interviewed, and they secured 2 of 6 available positions. The two‑year program carries an estimated educational value of $125,000. This achievement reflects the students’ dedication and the vital support of their families, CTE teachers, and Orangefield ISD programs. Congratulations to the students and thanks to all partners who prepare young talent for industry opportunities.

The winners of the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Texas State Championship Spring Qualifier have been announced by Certiport, a Pearson Business, the leading provider of performance-based IT certification exams that accelerate people’s academic and career opportunities. Placing 7th in the Microsoft Office Specialist Word (Office 2019) category is Jaelyn Leibold. As a member of Mrs. Bellard’s Business Communications and Technology class, students take several Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams. Jaelyn also earned her Excel Associate certification.

Orangefield has had many years of success in certifying students. Certiport also recognized Mrs. Misty Bellard as an Outstanding Educator in Microsoft Office Specialist certifications. These certifications are the only official Microsoft-recognized certification for Microsoft Office globally and serves as a powerful instrument for assessing students’ skills and preparing them for real-world application of their knowledge.

The Orangefield High School Class of 2026 Valedictorian is Landon Dickens and the Salutatorian is Charlee Sanches.


Dickens is a dedicated student and community volunteer. Some of his achievements include All "A" Honor Roll all four years, Magna Cum Laude graduate, Bridge City Chamber Student of the Month (September 2025), Orangefield HS marshal (2025), College Board First‑Generation and Rural Recognition (2025), Adobe Certified in Visual Design, multiple “O” Merit Awards across STEM and arts, UIL regional competitor, TMEA Texas Music Scholar, solo/state choir qualifier, NHS inductee, and regular volunteer with the Humane Society and local toy drives. He plans to attend Lamar University to study biology in pursuit of becoming an optometrist.

Sanches is a true student-athlete powerhouse. Some of her achievements include All “A” Honor Roll all four years, Bridge City Chamber Student of the Month (October 2025), Orangefield HS marshal (2025), Softball All-State (2023 & 2025), First Team All-District Infield (2023) and Pitcher (2024), All-District Offensive MVP (2025), recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (Jan 2025) and multiple “O” Merit Awards. Charlee is an NHS inductee and will graduate Magna Cum Laude. She plans to attend Weatherford College to play softball and then a university to complete her bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance.
