Katie Guyote walked away with 1st place in her event, Personal Care, and an invitation to compete at the HOSA State Conference in April. Orangefield High School debaters Calvin Kelly and Sidney Holderman competed at the State UIL Congressional Debate Meet on January 10, 2024. Debaters Major Copeland and Colton Myers attended the event as alternates. Students were chaperoned by OHS Debate Sponsor Bridget Trahan and OHS UIL Coordinator Misty Bellard. The group toured the Texas Museum of Science and Natural History on the University of Texas - Austin campus.

Students in Mrs. Kimberly Spears' Education and Training classes would like to thank former OHS students, Kaydance Whitfield and Asia Tran. Both young ladies are currently continuing their education with plans to pursue careers working with children. They came and spoke to the classes about the Education & Training pathway, endorsements, and the Educational Aide certification. They also shared college expectations and skills gained from Family and Consumer Science classes and how they are benefiting them now.

Attention all OHS Track Athletes!

The HOSA-Future Health Professionals student organization along with the Health Science classes at OHS made Christmas cards and collected items to be donated to local long term living facilities, Focused Care and Stonewood. The HOSA officers delivered the items that will be used to spread holiday cheer. We wish the residents and staff a very Merry Christmas from OHS!

We received four $1000 one-time scholarships to award to four of our OHS students that have committed to attending Lamar University in the fall.

Orangefield High School FCCLA teamed up with Interact for a joint community service project. They spent the first Thursday of December volunteering. They started the morning at the annual Granger Food Drive, loading and unloading cans to stock the pantries at the Salvation Army and Orange Christian Services. After spending the morning at Granger Chevrolet, they moved over to downtown Orange to tour the beautifully restored home of Kenneth and Beth Wheeler and the historic Miss Laura's Schoolhouse. They collected and donated over 75 toys benefiting The Service League of Orange 67th Annual Toy Coffee.
