THSCA Academic All State

Tuesday night, three Orangefield High School students participated in the Texas Citizen Bee, held at Lamar State College Port Arthur, where they were tested on their knowledge of U.S. History, Civics and Current Events. Madison KC, Alex Valentinis-Dee, and Jackson Droddy represented Orangefield in the 1st round. Valentinis-Dee advanced to the final round but fell short of the victory by a close margin. Congratulations to all three on doing such an outstanding job of representing OHS!

Congratulations to the UIL participants who brought home medals at the Sabine Pass Invitational Meet!

On Monday, local golf teams competed in the Bridge City Invitational, which was held at Sunset Country Club, in Orange. Lincoln Parks finished as the 1st Place medalist, shooting a 1 over par 72. Orangefield’s team, consisting of Lincoln Parks, Zack Morrow, Peyton Revia, Branden Greenway, and Gavin Gravett delivered a 2nd place finish! Next week, the teams will be at Henry Homberg, in Beaumont, to make up the Lumberton Invitational tournament that was rained out earlier in the year.

Huge congratulations to Adam Tsan! 🎉 We're incredibly proud to announce that Adam has been awarded the prestigious Southeast Texas Legends Scholarship from Lamar University! This is an extraordinary achievement, especially considering this full ride scholarship is only awarded to four students each year! This is a testament to Adam's hard work, dedication, and outstanding academic achievements. We can't wait to see all that Adam accomplishes as a Lamar Cardinal!

The Orangefield ISD Education Foundation presented grant checks to deserving OHS teachers on Friday, recognizing their dedication to our students' education. Congratulations to Simone Oregel (pictured), Denise Batchelor (pictured), Ashley Wilbur, and Jessica VanHuis! Their innovative projects will greatly benefit our students. Additionally, the campus received a grant for a brand new laminator, a valuable resource for both teachers and students. We're incredibly grateful for the foundation's unwavering support!

Health Science classes welcomed guest speaker, Amy Quinn, DNP, APRN, FNP-C this week. Mrs. Quinn spoke on her education and career pathway to obtaining her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, and her current leadership role within the Christus Trinity Clinic organization. She left students excited and motivated to begin their journey in the healthcare world. We would like to thank her for taking time out of her busy schedule to educate, motivate, and inspire our future health professionals at OHS.


The OHS Student Council traveled to Ford Park for Spring Convention. The council was recognized and awarded in the following categories:
-Pride and Patriotism
-Energy + Environment,
-Drug,Alcohol, Safety, and Healthy (D.A.S.H.)
-Community Service

Six students from the Orangefield chapter of Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) represented OHS at the Teach Tomorrow Summit on February 17-19, 2025 at Moody Gardens, in Galveston. These young women put in countless hours to prepare, plan, and execute presentations worthy of a place among competitors from all over Texas. They all did outstanding, but one team of competitors was recognized for their hard work and was invited to the Educators Rising National Conference June 26-29 in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations to Kiley Nichols and Madison KC for this amazing accomplishment.
All of the teams received certificates for their accomplishments and are as follows:

West Orange Stark Powerlifting Meet
Thursday, February 13, 2025
The next meet is Girls Regionals on Thursday, February 27the at Bay City (4PM)


The Bobcats opened their season in Nederland at the Bulldog Relays. A lot of the young Bobcats got their first taste of a varsity track meet. Some of the young cats that stood out were Koa Sides running a leg in the 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, and the open 100m. Gage Lucas ran the open 100m and 4x200m relay.
The high spots for the bobcats were Steyle Spurlock, Caden Knott, and Zach Morrow.
Steyle competed in the Long jump, the 4x100m Relay and placed 7th in the 100m.
Caden Knott put together good performances in the shot put and discus.
Zach Morrow had a great day at the track placing 5th in the triple jump, 4th in the long jump, 7th in the 110m hurdles, and 4th in the 300m Hurdles.
The Track team will be at PNG this Thursday for their next meet.
