Congratulations to Katie Guyote, who represented OHS at the HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Conference in Galveston last week. She walked away with first place in her event, Personal Care, which includes patient care skills such as handwashing, vital signs, bed making, and transferring patients. This is a huge achievement, as this is the first year for the student-led HOSA organization in Orangefield. Thank you Katie for paving the way for future health professionals in OISD.

On Thursday, April 4th, the representatives for Youth Leadership SETX attended their "Graduation Day" at LSCO. Ethan Welch, Gracie Bickham, and Abby Slaughter were selected to represent OHS, and hosted several small fundraisers throughout the year to collect monetary donations. Together with Bridge City, the students were able to donate roughly $1700 to Family Services of SETX.

Friday is an early release day for OISD. Seniors who have off first period and LSCO students remember that 2nd period starts at 9:05 and 3rd period starts at 9:40.

Students in Mrs. Kimberly Spears' Education and Training Program bussed over to the elementary on Friday, March 15th, and hosted the annual Rodeo Day for the kindergarten. They exhibited teamwork and leadership skills. The HS students created seven stations for the kindergarteners that correlated with their social studies unit on Texas. The weather on Friday made us deviate from our original plan; but it turned out fine, and a great time was had by all! Special thanks to the kindergarten team for having us!

We would like to congratulate Senior, Blaine Lenard, Class of 2024, who was accepted into the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. We are proud of the work you did at OHS and excited to see you continue to play in college!
