🧪 Our 8th-grade scientists at OJH had a blast getting hands-on with chemistry this week! Students tested and classified common household items as acids or bases using litmus paper, pH strips, and even red cabbage juice as a natural pH indicator. We love seeing our OJH students collaborating, experimenting, and thinking like real scientists! 🥽🔬🚀 #OJHScience #8thGradeScience #STEMInAction #OJHBobcats

OJH Parents and Guardians: Thanks to the generous support of our local businesses, OJH students with good attendance will have the opportunity to win from $300 worth of awesome prizes every six weeks! At the end of each six weeks, two qualifying students will be randomly selected to receive our donated prizes. Students earn entries through good attendance, while each unexcused absence reduces the number of entries they have in the drawing—so show up, be present, and give yourself the best chance to win!

As a special thank-you to the Bobcat Businesses that invest in our students and support their success, OJH students and staff are encouraged to represent and support our local businesses on Wednesday, September 23rd by wearing apparel from their favorite local business!

On Friday, August 28, Orangefield Junior High was honored to have Richard Teague, a former Marine who served from 2000 to 2004 and a current Captain from the Bridge City Police Department, instruct a small group of 7th-grade Texas History students on how to properly raise, lower, fold, and store the American Flag and the Texas State Flag. Not only did they learn a new skill, but they also received a mini history lesson on the symbolism within the colors of the flag and how and why the flag has changed over the past 250 years. Thank you to Mr. Richard Teague for his dedication and service to our country and community.

Bobcat Bites
The Orangefield Cross County team got their season off to a great start on Saturday. The Bobcats battled the heat as they laid the foundation for a great year. All of the running Bobcats were able to compete on Saturday as they had races at all levels from Varsity through Junior High. The Bobcats were represented at the Junior high with a great group of competitors. The Boys led off the Junior High slate, and competed well as all 3 of their runners would leave with a medal. Jax Gautreaux took home 3rd place, Logan Read brought home 4th place, and Easton Snider grabbed 9th place.
The Junior High Lady Bobcats followed with another strong performance. Kinsley Greenfield led the way as she finished in 1st place! Hayden Hebert also had a very good showing finishing in 5th place. Anastyn Gamblin and Scarlett Root also ran well to help the Lady Bobcats to a 3rd place finish.
The Junior High Cross Country team will be back in action on September 9th in Anahuac.
