OJH Boys Basketball:
Thursday all four teams finally got to take the floor and managed to get the clean sweep against Mauriceville in front of the home crowd.
DaBabinator and his crew took the floor first winning a one sided affair 19-0. Babin was unmerciful as he unleashed his suffocating press the entire game. Remy McClure led the team with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Liam Willams and Kole Knox each scored 4 and gave quality minutes the entire game. Ainsley Skibo and Bolt Garner played stellar defense keeping the Panthers at bay and not giving them any opportunities to score.
The 8th grade B team was up next and continued the winning ways by putting up 11 in the first and never taking their foot off the gas winning 17-6. Cullen "Wild Wild" West led the team in scoring with 7. He was helped out by Rhys Fenner and Andrew Bland who each chipped in 4. Cash "The Cash Money Show" Sims made his presence felt under the goal, almost having a double double in blocks and steals.
"Battle Axe" Barbay and his District Champion 7th graders looked to keep their season going strong as they rolled through district undefeated with 1 game still remaining. They did what they normally do and came out strong defensively, setting the tone and getting a big lead. It was all gas and no brakes for this group as they scored double digits each quarter and cruised to a 57-25 victory. Lexon Detwiler led the team with 16 and had his usual accompaniment of Landon Agerton scoring 11. Kreed Spears manned the paint and handled all the dirty work, grabbing the boards and making all the right passes.
The 8th A team was looking to finish out the season strong for their final 2 games. They came out shooting an atrocious percentage to start the game missing easily their first 15 shots. After a quick time out to regroup and lock in they went on to win 35-11. Leading scorer was Kaysen Click with 10. Kaleb Flory, Austin Erickson, and Kolston Robinson each had 5 a fueled the big run made by the Bobcats early on. The defensive pressure allowed the Cats to convert easy layups and settle into the game.
The A groups will finish up the season at home on Monday against the Hardin Hornets.

This weeks OJH Kings of the Court against Mauriceville.
7th Grade B - Remy McClure
8th Grade B - Cullen West

OJH Boys Basketball:
Last week the Bobcats traveled to Buna to take on the Cougars which could have been for District Championship implications. There were only 3 games this week which included the 7th B, 7th A, 8th A.
The 7th B was up first looking to come out hot after the break. They started off a little sluggish but soon picked up traction. Channing Harrison and Bolt Garner led the way offensively each having 4 points. Garner also had a hand full of rebounds while Liam Williams shut down the front court with his steals. The Bobcats pulled away and had a very convincing 14-1 win over the Cougars.
The 7th A team was looking to keep their District Championship hopes alive against the rival foes from Buna. It was a defensive showdown early as both teams found it hard to score. The Field ended up winning 22-14 and were led by Larsen Richard who scored 7 and Landon Agerton who scored 8. Eli Ford Alleman hit a 3 in transition early in the 4th quarter and that’s all the spark the Cats need to pull away.
The 8th A team has been working on their offense lately as it has been an area of struggle and this game was no different as the Bobcats lost 25-31. The Bobcats were up early but soon fell behind and were never able to catch up. The Cats played through some spotty officiating but just could not score when they needed to. Kaysen Click led the offense with 11. Andrew Burt had his best game of the year scoring 7 and taking over the ball handling duties as Easton Locke was hampered by injuries.

Students in Mrs. Wickersham's 6th grade math class used skittles to learn about finding ratios and data differentiation.

Last week at OJH, Mrs. Luker's Texas History classes engaged in a friendly competition with Mrs. Wilson's and Coach Shores’s classes to see which grade could donate the most items to benefit local nursing homes. Our outstanding junior high students brought in over 1,000 Christmas gifts, surpassing last year’s goal by over 200. The "Bobcat Blessings" were given to Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, providing each resident several gifts. Great job, Bobcats!

The holiday spirit was in full swing at OJH this week as our amazing staff participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange! 🎁 From thoughtful presents to unexpected surprises, everyone was filled with joy and gratitude. A huge thank you to Jaden Gomez, who played the role of Santa’s biggest helper, working behind the scenes to make sure the magic happened!
Of course, Jaden didn’t go it alone—special thanks to his wonderful elf side kicks: Ashley Morphew, Keely Kole, and Emily Copeland, of our complex needs classroom who worked tirelessly to make this holiday season extra special for all of us. 🌟
From our OFAM to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎅🏼🎉

8th graders in Mrs. Lovett's Art II class made Christmas ornaments. Students created a design, made it out of clay slabs, and glazed the finished pieces.
