Yesterday, our talented second graders took us on an unforgettable journey through the rainforest with their program, "Singing in the Rainforest." Through songs and performances, they introduced us to the vibrant wildlife of the rainforest, including toucans, pythons, agoutis, spider monkeys, red-eyed tree frogs, and the beautiful blue morpho butterfly. Their hard work and enthusiasm brought the rainforest to life, making it a fun and educational experience for all! Thank you to Mrs. Blake for her hard work and dedication in creating such a fantastic show! We also appreciate everyone who helped make this performance so special. Your efforts truly made it an unforgettable experience for all! Bravo, second graders!

Mrs. Verrett’s 3rd-grade class celebrated Texas Public School Week by putting their financial literacy skills to the test, planning a "Texan Meal" for their families! Students carefully selected ingredients, calculated costs, and tracked their spending using Google Sheets, analyzing their totals with built-in graphs to stay within budget. They designed personalized menu covers in Canva to bring their meal to life, incorporating creative elements that reflected their chosen dishes. Way to go, 3rd graders! Your budgeting and design skills are as strong as a Texan!

Pre-K students learned all about dental health this week! Today, Melissa and Callie from Dr. Edgerly's office visited our Pre-K classes to share tips on keeping our teeth healthy. They taught us about healthy and unhealthy foods for strong teeth. A big thank you to Dr. Alex Edgerly for the toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss! Our students loved their new dental care goodies.

We are thrilled to share that our very own Coach, Brittney Stevens, has been awarded a $3,985.44 STEAM grant from Indorama Ventures and The Beaumont Children's Museum! Her project, "Step Into STEAM: Promoting Health and Learning Through Pedometers," will bring an exciting, hands-on approach to integrating movement and learning for our students. Thanks to this grant, pedometers and software have been purchased to track students' activity, helping them stay active while engaging with technology and data in meaningful ways. We are so proud of Coach Stevens for her dedication to enriching student learning experiences and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for all that you do!
