Orangefield Elementary 3rd grade reading students became paleontologists this week as a culminating activity following their reading story, “The Albertosaurus Mystery, Philip Currie’s Hunt in the Badlands.” Using special tools, students enjoyed digging out the chips in chocolate chip cookies without breaking the cookie! Using the Scientific Method, students were able to make predictions and draw conclusions about their experiment. They also enjoyed learning about Otzi, the 5,300 year old mummy found in 1991, who scientists still study today in Bolzano, Italy.

On Tuesday, our talented 3rd-grade students took the stage for their incredible program, "Hats!" Through lively songs and creative storytelling, they showcased the many different types of hats, their uses, and the people who wear them. More importantly, they beautifully shared the message that it's not the hat that makes a person special, but what’s underneath!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped bring this production to life! Special appreciation goes to Mrs. Blake, whose dedication and hard work shined through—even with limited practice time due to snow days.
Fantastic job, 3rd grade!

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a brand-new rock wall to our gym, made possible by the generous support of our PTA and the hard work of Mr. Wayne and our dedicated maintenance department, who expertly assembled it! Our students will love this new challenge, and we can’t wait to watch them climb to new heights—literally and figuratively! Thank you to everyone who helped make this amazing addition a reality. We’re looking forward to the adventure ahead!

Fourth grade students have been studying the origins, similarities, and differences of American Indian groups in Texas before European exploration. They did a tremendous job showing their understanding of the Indian culture by designing an artifact from one of the Texas tribes.
